Think sushi prepared in the Edomae style, but that goes well beyond the traditional thanks to creative flavour combinations and the finest ingredients around. The only female Sushi Master in London and one of very few in the world, Sato has just introduced a fabulous new menu that’s well worth a repeat visit. It’s hosted fashion shows and glitzy events, become an important drinks destination, and under the brilliant Miho Sato, has evolved its culinary offering to boot. Having recently celebrated one year since its launch, this eccentric-and decidedly elevated-take on a Japanese izakaya, tucked beneath the majestic Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, has retained its buzz and established itself as a must-visit on the London restaurant scene. Which is why it’s worth celebrating those establishments that have shown serious staying power, such as The Aubrey. New restaurant openings are a dime a dozen nowadays, but to stay open-and relevant-past the initial excitement is an altogether rarer achievement.
